The long-term cooperation between NEXO and the famous French scenic spot Asterix Park has opened a new chapter, and the latest NEXO P+ series point source system is installed at the core of the park.

Asterix is the second largest theme park in France, with more than 2 million visitors every year and is famous for all kinds of roller coasters. It is located 35 kilometers north of Paris and is also a close neighbor of NEXO's manufacturing base in Prairie.

The main attractions of Asterix Park are located by the lake, and there is a passageway in the central area where special events and parades can be held. The area is about 140m long, and NEXO's engineering support team faces the challenge of designing a high sound pressure distribution that can handle not only daily background music, but also live events.

This is how NEXO designer Christopher Gilles interprets the task. "for me, I have to take into account the high output level and full frequency response required for dynamic live performance during the parade. This means that ultra-low frequency speakers must be added to the system. We also have to consider the aesthetics of the installation: in order to keep the speakers low-key, we have set some restrictions on the location of some speakers, so we work closely with Nicholas Jenny, chief sound engineer in Asterix Park. select and verify the best location. "

Christopher Gilles selected NEXO's new P+ series multi-purpose point source speakers for the project, customized 10 P12 coaxial 12-inch low-frequency and 3-inch high-frequency diaphragm full-frequency speakers, supplemented by seven ultra-low frequency speakers. The L15 has a frequency range of 40Hz / 120Hz and a peak sound pressure of 139dB, making it the most powerful product of its kind on the market.

"We chose P12 and L15 because of their very compact shape and low-key appearance, but also because of their high output, high definition and smooth response. All P12 speakers are equipped with an asymmetrical horn board, which allows us to provide strong sound pressure over considerable distances while avoiding the problem of too much volume at the bottom of the speaker. "

These speakers are mainly installed on the roofs of the buildings around the hall: two are installed on pillars and custom colors are customized to match the park decorations as much as possible.

All speakers are powered by three NXAMP4x2MK2 amplifiers and controlled remotely by NEXO's proprietary NEMO software in the central control room, allowing playback and playback of different configurations of scenes (background music, events, etc.). Three NXDT104MK2 network cards are installed for the power amplifier to create a DANTE network connection.
